All detours and updates

From Monday 13th January for 15 days there will be road works on Wairakei Rd that will require the Route 8 service to detour from its usual route. 

Buses travelling northbound towards the Airport will follow the normal route along Wairakei Rd, turn right on to Blighs Rd, veer left to stay on Blighs Rd, turn left on to Condell Rd, left on to Greers Rd, veer left to stay on Greers Rd and turn right on to Wairakei Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling southbound towards Lyttelton will follow the normal route along Wairakei Rd, turn left on to Greers Rd, veer right to stay on Greers Rd, turn right on to Condell Ave, right on to Blighs Rd, veer right to stay on Blighs Rd and turn left on to Wairakei Rd to resume the normal route

From 4pm Friday 10th January there will be road closures on Rolleston Ave/Park Tce that will require the Route 8 service to detour from its usual route until 11pm. 

From 4-11pm buses travelling northbound towards the Airport will follow the normal route along Hereford St before turning right on to Montreal St, left on to Victoria St, left on to Bealey Ave and right on to Carlton Mill Rd to resume the normal route.

From 7-11pm buses travelling southbound towards Lyttelton will follow the normal route along Carlton Mill Rd, merge on to Bealey Ave, turn right on to Durham St and left on to Hereford St to resume the normal route

On Sunday 12th January there will be road works on Burwood Rd that will require the Route 7 service to detour from its usual route from 9pm until last bus. 

Buses travelling southbound towards Halswell will follow the normal route along Burwood Rd, turn left on to SH74 Travis Rd, right on to Parnwell St, right on to Bassett St, take the third exit at the roundabout on to New Brighton Rd and continue on New Brighton Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling northbound towards Queenspark will not be impacted by these works.

From 6pm Friday 10th January until 6am Monday 13th January there will be road closures on Waterloo Rd that will require the Route 5 service to detour from its usual route. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Rolleston will follow the normal route along Waterloo Rd before taking the second exit at the roundabout on to Halswell Junction Rd, take the third exit at the roundabout on to Commerce Cres, turn right on to Doric Way, right on to Halswell Junction Rd, left on to Pound Rd and right on to Waterloo Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards New Brighton will follow the normal route along Waterloo Rd, turn left on to Pound Rd, right on to Halswell Junction Rd, left on to Doric Way, left on to Commerce Cres, take the third exit at the roundabout on to Halswell Junction Rd and take the first exit at the roundabout on to Waterloo Rd to resume the normal route

On Sunday 5th January from 6pm to Monday 13th January 5am, there will be essential safety upgrades happening at Ferry Rd, Aldwins Rd and Ensors Rd that will require Route 140 to detour from its normal route. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Russley will follow the normal route to Aldwins Road before turning right on to Harrow Street, continuing to Tuam Street, turning left on to Fitzgerald Avenue, and right on to Moorhouse Avenue to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards Mt Pleasant will follow the normal route to Moorhouse Avenue before turning left on to Fitzgerald Avenue, right on to St Asaph Street, left on to Phillips Street, right on to Tuam Street, continuing to Harrow Street, and turning left on to Aldwins Road to resume the normal route.

From Sunday 5th January for 7 days there will be road works on Ferry Road that will require the Route 3 service to detour from its usual route. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards Sumner will follow the normal route along Ferry Rd before turning left on to Phillips St, right on to Tuam St, continue along Harrow St, left on to Aldwins Rd, right on to Linwood Ave, right on to Hargood St, left on to Ferry Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Airport will follow the normal route along Ferry Rd before turning right on to Hargood St, left on to Linwood Ave, left on to Aldwins Road, right on to Harrow St, continue on Tuam St, left on to Phillips St, right on to Ferry Rd to resume the normal route

On Sunday 5th January 2025 from 6pm to Monday 13th January 2025 at 5am, there will be essential safety upgrades happening at Ferry Rd, Aldwins Rd and Ensors Rd that will require the Orbiter to detour from its normal route. 

Buses travelling anticlockwise will follow the normal route to Ensors Road before taking the 1st exit on the Opawa Road Roundabout, right on to Wilsons Road North, continuing to Ferry Road, turning right on to Phillips Street, right on to Tuam Street, continuing to Harrow Street, and turning left on to Aldwins Road to resume the normal route.
