All detours and updates

From Saturday 20th September for 16 days there will be road works on Birchs Rd that will require the Route 81 service to detour from its usual route. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Lincoln will follow the normal route along Birchs Rd, turn right on to Hamptons Rd, left on to Springs Rd, left on to Tancreds Rd and right on to Birchs Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards City will follow the normal route along Birchs Rd, left on to Tancreds Rd, right on to Springs Rd, right on to Hamptons Rd and left on to Birchs Rd to resume the normal route.

From Sunday 7th September for 20 days there will be road works on St Asaph St that will require the Route 80 service to detour from its usual route. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Lincoln will follow the normal route along St Asaph St, turn left on to Phillips St, right on to Ferry Rd and left on to St Asaph St to resume the normal route.  

Buses travelling eastbound towards Parklands will not be impacted by this detour.

From Sunday 21st September for 1 day there will be road works on Halswell Junction Rd that will require the Route 5 service to detour from its usual route between 5am until 7pm.

Buses travelling westbound towards Rolleston will follow the normal route along SH1 Main South Rd, turn right on to Parker St, turn left on to Waterloo Rd and continue on Waterloo Rd to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards New Brighton will follow the normal route along Waterloo Rd, continue on Waterloo Rd, turn right on to Parker St and left on to SH1 Main South Rd to resume the normal route.

From Monday 22nd September there will be road works on Two Chain Rd that will require the Route 820 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling eastbound towards Lincoln via Rolleston will follow the normal route along Two Chain Rd, turn left on to Walkers Rd, veer right on to Kerrs Rd, right on to Railway Rd, veer left on to Detroit Dr and left on to Link Dr to resume the normal route.

Buses travelling westbound towards Burnham will follow the normal route along Link Rd, turn right on to Detroit Dr, right on to Railway Rd, left on to Kerrs Rd, veer left on to Walkers Rd and right on to Two Chain Rd to resume the normal route.

From Monday 18th August there will be road works on Jones Rd and Two Chain Rd that will require the Route 820 service to detour from its usual route until further notice.  

Buses travelling westbound towards Burnham will follow the normal route to Izone Dr, turn left on to Jones Rd, turn right on to Hoskyns Rd, turn right on to SH1 Main South Rd, turn right on to Walkers Rd, and turn left on to Two Chain Rd to resume the normal route.

Buses travelling eastbound towards Lincoln via Rolleston will follow the normal route to Two Chain Rd, turn right on to Walkers Rd, turn left on to Main South Rd, turn left on to Hoskyns Rd, turn left on to Jones Rd, and turn right on to Izone Dr to resume the normal route.

There will be several closed and temporary bus stops along Halswell Rd due to the road improvements currently underway and estimated to take two and a half years. These will impact Route 7 passengers as well as some other routes that use Halswell Rd.

Please take note of the signs installed by contractors at the closed stops, directing you to the nearest stop/temporarily placed stop. Allow for additional time to get to your stop in case stops have been moved as the road works progress.

Please safely signal to your bus when it approaches, especially if visibility is restricted. We apologise for any inconvenience.

From Monday 22nd September there will be road works on Flockton St that will require the Route 44 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling northbound towards Shirley will follow the normal route along Warrington St, continue on Warrington St, turn left on to Hills Rd, left on to Aylesford St, left on to Westminster St and right on to Kensington Ave to resume the normal route. 

Buses travelling southbound towards Westmorland will follow the normal route along Westminster St, continue on Westminster St, left on to Francis Ave, left on to Warrington St and right on to Barbadoes St to resume the normal route.

From Monday 18th August there will be road works on Athelstan Street that will require the Route 44 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling northbound towards Shirley will follow the normal route to Barrington St and turn right on to Milton St to resume the normal route.  

Buses travelling southbound towards Westmorland will not be impacted by this detour.

From Sunday 31st August there is an update to the detour for works on Maidstone Rd that requires the Route 3 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

[Updated 18/09] Buses travelling eastbound towards Sumner will follow the normal route along Maidstone Rd, turn left on to Waimairi Rd, right on to Greers Rd, right on to Memorial Ave and right on to Ilam Rd to resume the normal route.  

Buses travelling westbound towards the Airport will not be impacted by these works.

From Monday 16th June there will be road works on Buchanans Rd that will require the Route 130 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling westbound towards Hei Hei will continue the normal route to  Racecourse Rd, continue along Racecourse Rd, turn right on to Waterloo Rd, turn right on to SH1 Carmen Rd and turn left on to Buchanans Rd to resume the normal route.  

Buses travelling eastbound towards Avonhead will not be impacted by this detour.

From Monday 25th August there will be road works on Cranford St that will require the Route 660 school service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Afternoon trips travelling towards Redwood will follow the normal route to Cranford St, take the second exit at the Northern Corridor roundabout, take the first exit left off the Northern Corridor, take the first exit at the roundabout on to QEII drive and turn right on to Main North Rd to resume the normal route. 

Morning trips travelling towards AGHS & SBHS will not be impacted by this detour.

From 1 September, the Route 85 service is changing. Together with Bentley Coachlines, we will be commencing 6-month trial. The trial brings increased frequency, quadruple the trips, an expanded service area, and earlier trips.
We are keeping the existing 8 x Metro trips each day. With the expanded service, we've split the trips between Routes 84 and 85, to allow better coverage of the Rolleston suburbs.
Both Metro and Bentley buses will run on Routes 84 and 85, but there are critical differences in how they operate — from payment options, to how they appear in journey planning tools, to whether concessions are accepted. It’s essential you understand these before you travel.

From Monday 18th August there will be road works on Athelstan Street that will require the Route 641 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Morning buses travelling towards Christchurch will not be impacted by this detour.  
 
Afternoon buses travelling towards Woolston will follow the normal route to Barrington St and turn right on to Milton St to resume the normal route.

Buses travelling eastbound towards Southshore will follow the normal route to Frankleigh St and continue to Milton St to resume the normal route.

From Tuesday 22nd July there will be road works on Lincoln Rolleston Road that will require the Route 673 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Morning trips travelling towards City will not be impacted by this detour. 

Afternoon trips travelling towards Rolleston will continue the normal route to Tennyson St, take the second exit in the roundabout on to Springston Rolleston Rd, turn left on to Taita Dr, turn right on to Branthwaite Dr, turn right on to Territory St, turn right on to Kestrel St, turn left on to Branthwaite Dr, turn left on to Taita Dr, and turn left on to Springston Rolleston Rd to resume the normal route.

From Tuesday 22nd July there will be road works on Lincoln Rolleston Road that will require the Routes 672 and 674 service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Morning trips travelling towards Christchurch will continue the normal route to Branthwaite Dr, turn right on to Territory St, turn right on to Kestrel St, turn left on to Branthwaite St, turn left on to Taita Dr, turn right on to Springston Rolleston Rd, take the second exit in the roundabout on to Tennyson St to resume the normal route.

From Monday 16th June there will be road works on Bower Avenue that will require the Route 671 school service to detour from its usual route until further notice. 

Buses travelling in the PM towards Burnham will continue the normal route to Racecourse Rd, continue along Racecourse Rd, turn right on to Waterloo Rd, turn right on to SH1 Carmen Rd, turn left on to Buchanans Rd to resume the normal route.  

Buses travelling in the AM towards Riccarton will not be impacted by this detour.
