Detour for Ferry Rd

On Sunday 5th January from 6pm to Monday 13th January 5am, there will be essential safety upgrades happening at Ferry Rd, Aldwins Rd and Ensors Rd that will require Route 140 to detour from its normal route.
Buses travelling westbound towards Russley will follow the normal route to Aldwins Road before turning right on to Harrow Street, continuing to Tuam Street, turning left on to Fitzgerald Avenue, and right on to Moorhouse Avenue to resume the normal route.
Buses travelling eastbound towards Mt Pleasant will follow the normal route to Moorhouse Avenue before turning left on to Fitzgerald Avenue, right on to St Asaph Street, left on to Phillips Street, right on to Tuam Street, continuing to Harrow Street, and turning left on to Aldwins Road to resume the normal route.

Buses travelling westbound towards the Airport will follow the normal route to Ferry Road before turning right on to Hargood Street, left on to Linwood Avenue, left on to Aldwins Road, right on to Harrow Street, continuing on to Tuam Street, turning left on to Phillips Street, and right on to Ferry Road to resume the normal route.
Buses travelling eastbound towards Sumner will follow the normal route to Ferry Road before turning left on to Phillips Street, right on to Tuam Street, continuing on to Harrow Street, turning left on to Aldwins Road, right on to Linwood Avenue, right on to Hargood Street, and left on to Ferry Road to resume the normal route.

Detour for Aldwins Rd

On Sunday 5th January 2025 from 6PM to Monday 13th January 2025 at 5AM, there will be essential safety upgrades happening at Ferry Rd, Aldwins Rd and Ensors Rd that will require the Orbiter to detour from its normal route.
Buses travelling clockwise will follow the normal route to Aldwins Road before turning right on to Harrow Street, continuing to Tuam Street, turning left on to Nursery Street, veering left onto Ferry Road, continuing to Wilsons Road North, turning left on to Opawa Road, and taking the 3rd exit on the Ensors Road Roundabout to resume the normal route.

Detour for Aldwins Rd

On Sunday 5th January 2025 from 6pm to Monday 13th January 2025 at 5am, there will be essential safety upgrades happening at Ferry Rd, Aldwins Rd and Ensors Rd that will require the Orbiter to detour from its normal route.
Buses travelling anticlockwise will follow the normal route to Ensors Road before taking the 1st exit on the Opawa Road Roundabout, right on to Wilsons Road North, continuing to Ferry Road, turning right on to Phillips Street, right on to Tuam Street, continuing to Harrow Street, and turning left on to Aldwins Road to resume the normal route.

Service change on Hendersons Rd

Until further notice
From Monday 18th November there will be a road layout change on Hendersons Rd and Halswell Rd that will require the Route 60 service to detour from its usual route. Hendersons Rd will now be a left in/left out layout and this is a permanent change. Please refer to the NZTA notice to learn more (PDF file, 384 KB).
[UPDATED 22/11] Buses travelling westbound towards Hillmorton will follow the normal route along Hendersons Rd before turning left on to Manarola Rd, take the third exit at the roundabout on to Monsaraz Blvd and continue straight on to Augustine Dr to resume the normal route.
Buses travelling eastbound towards Southshore will follow the normal route along SH 75 Halswell Rd before turning right on to Monsaraz Blvd, take the first exit at the roundabout on to Manarola Rd and right on to Hendersons Rd to resume the normal route.

Temporary stops will soon be replaced with permanent stops.
Detour for Aidanfield Dr road works

From Monday 13th May there will be road works on Aidanfield Drive that will require the Route 60 service to detour from its usual route until further notice.
Buses travelling westbound towards Hillmorton will follow the normal route along SH75/Halswell Rd before turning right on to Augustine Dr, left on to Euphrasie Dr and take the third exit at the roundabout on to Aidanfield Dr to resume the normal route.
Buses travelling eastbound towards Southshore will no longer be affected.

Detour for Creyke Rd

From Monday 9th September 2024, there will be long-term road works on Creyke Road that will require the Route 130 service to detour from its usual route for about a year (until at least September 2025).
Buses travelling westbound towards Hei Hei will follow the normal route along Maidstone Rd before turning left on to Ilam Rd, right on to Memorial Ave and left on to Kotare St to resume the normal route.
Buses travelling eastbound towards Avonhead will not be impacted by this detour.

Detour for Clyde Rd

From Monday 9th September 2024, there will be long-term road works on Clyde Road that will require the Route 120 service to detour from its usual route for about a year (until at least September 2025).
Buses travelling southbound towards Spreydon will follow the normal route along Clyde Rd before turning right on to Creyke Rd, left on to Ilam Rd, left on to Riccarton Rd before continuing to resume the normal route.
Buses travelling northbound towards Burnside will not be impacted by this detour.

Detour for Clyde Rd, Creyke Rd, Ilam Rd

From Monday 9th September 2024, there will be long-term road works in Ilam that will require the Route 100 service to detour from its usual route for about a year (until at least September 2025).
Buses travelling westbound towards Wigram will follow the normal route along Riccarton Road and instead of turning right onto Clyde Road, buses will continue on Riccarton Road to resume normal route, avoiding Clyde Rd, Creyke Rd, and Ilam Rd.
Buses travelling eastbound towards The Palms will follow the normal route along Riccarton Road and instead of turning left onto Ilam Road, buses will continue on Riccarton Road to resume normal route, avoiding Ilam Rd, Creyke Rd, and Clyde Rd.

Halswell Rd closed bus stops - no detour

Until further notice
There will be several closed and temporary bus stops along Halswell Rd due to the road improvements currently underway and estimated to take two and a half years. These will impact Route 7 passengers as well as some other routes that use Halswell Rd.
Please take note of the signs installed by contractors at the closed stops, directing you to the nearest stop/temporarily placed stop.
Please safely signal to your bus when it approaches, especially if visibility is restricted. We apologise for any inconvenience.
